Recaps for the 2011 Summer Season The Tax Dodgers ended their 2011 campaign with yet another defeat. This time at the hands of Sisters and Brothers, losing 22-11. Every player reached base at least once and Michael had another home run but it just wasn't enough. Thanks to all who either played or supported. Hired Guns appeared to be just as their namesake and really took to our team. Nevertheless, the Tax Dodgers remain confident they can finish the season on a winning note next week. Unfortunately, One Bad Inning come up with enough runs in the final inning to overtake the Tax Dodgers for a final score of 15-14. The game had many positives for the Tax Dodgers though. Michael had 2 home runs and Danielle played a stellar first base after having not played in over a year. It was good to see the offense bounce back after the previous week's near shutout. Very few positives to take away from this game. On defense Lorian made a great outfield assist to complete a play at home plate. On offense, Patricia led all players with 2 hits. The offense struggled overall despite multi-hit performances by Michael, Audrey, and Christopher. The team collected a total of 21 hits, including 3 each for Amanda, Lorian, Audrey, and Michael. Linda was called up from the reserve players and reached base 3 times. Victoria and Lorian each led the team in runs batted in with 4 each. Box Score | Play-By-Play | Game Photos The losing streak continued as the Tax Dodgers lost to the Hired Guns 20-10. The team collected a season high 22 hits! For the first time this season every player in the lineup had at least one hit. Defensive highlights included spectacular plays by Audrey and Derrick. The offense collected 13 hits in this game, lead by Amanda with 3. Box Score | Play-By-Play | Game Photos After falling behind to Back Abbey (formerly known as T-Phillips), the Tax Dodgers attempted to rally late in the game but came up short. The game ended as a 15-7 loss but there were a few great moments highlighted by Lorian, Taylor and Eddie all getting two hits each. The team hopes to bounce back next week against a new team called One Bad Inning. Box Score | Play-By-Play | Game Photos The Tax Dodgers began the 2011 season with a convincing win, defeating Icy Hot 13-7. The offense was highlighted by homeruns by Taylor and Lorian. The offense also included doubles by Karen, Taylor, Victoria, Lorian, and Michael. Despite this being one of the dreaded "late games", several supporters showed up and saw a great game.
