After 27 years as a partner at VLS, including time as co-managing partner, Mary Ann Quay retired as a partner in the firm but is staying on in order to continue assisting her clients with their tax planning and preparation needs. She continues to work full time during the tax “busy season” and less than full time the rest of the year.  Whether it’s preparing a tax return, administering a trust, analyzing a business transaction or working with a charitable organization’s Board, Mary Ann devotes much of her time to helping others achieve their goals and have peace of mind when it comes to their financial and tax matters.

Golf is one of Mary Ann’s passions outside of work.  The challenge of making the perfect swing, sinking the unmakeable putt and concentrating on the shot in front of you instead of the mistake you just made are just some of the reasons she enjoys the game.  Being outdoors in beautiful surroundings without the distractions of modern technology is another benefit Mary Ann shares with  her husband, friends and new acquaintances whenever the opportunity arises.

Mary Ann earned her Accounting degree at Cal Poly Pomona and her MBA at Golden Gate University.  In addition to being partner emierta and in charge of the tax practice at VLS, Mary Ann is also a Registered Investment Advisor and licensed Life and Health Insurance agent in California.  She is on the Board of Trustees of the University of La Verne and is the treasurer of the Pomona Valley Estate Planning Council, as well as being a past president of the La Verne Chamber of Commerce,  and a member of the Glendora Chamber of Commerce and the La Verne Church of the Brethren.
