Karin Heckman Nelson was named Partner at Vicenti, Lloyd & Stutzman in 2003.

Karin is a member of the individual and trust tax team as well as an audit partner working with local education agencies and various not-for-profit organizations.

"I believe in the firm's purpose statement, which is 'to make a positive difference in the world.' I strive to do this in all arenas that I work in, whether it is by taking the stress and worry away from my individual tax clients or contributing to an audit of the public education system finances or other not-for-profit organizations."

Karin is one of several VLS "boomerang" employees. She began her public accounting career at VLS, then left for several years to try out other career opportunities. Eventually, her path led her back to VLS in 1995.

Some have said that Karin is a "ringer." This is mainly because one of her hobbies includes ringing hand bells in a bell choir. Over the years, she has recruited various firm members to join her in this musical pursuit. Karin has also been known to travel the highways with her family in an RV. She enjoys spending time with her family camping (especially now that she has a comfortable "tent" to sleep in).
